The UAE is the first Arab in the Asian Youth Games with 31 medals

The UAE delegation concluded its participation in the Third Asian Youth Games, which was hosted by Bahrain and concluded today, Friday, with the participation of more than 5,000 male and female athletes from 45 countries, in which Emirati sports competed in 19 diverse sports.
The national endurance team succeeded in winning all the medals in the endurance competition in the individual and team categories, with four colored medals in the competitions on the closing day of the tournament. Issa Al Mazrouei won the gold medal in the individual competition, while Ahmed Al Bastaki won the silver, and Khalifa Al Amimi won the bronze, while the team won the gold in the team competition through Issa Al Mazrouei, Ahmed Al Bastaki, Ali Al Falasi, Rashid Al Muhairi, and Khalifa. Al-Amimi.
The UAE won 31 colored medals, including 12 gold, nine silver and 10 bronze medals, in eighth place in the ranking table, ending the tournament in the Arab lead, while China topped the overall ranking table with 147 medals, Uzbekistan in second place with a total of 81 medals, and Kazakhstan in third place with 93 medals. Bahrain came in thirteenth place (second in the Arab world) with 13 colored medals by 5 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze medals, while Saudi Arabia ranked 14th and third in the Arab world with 22 medals, including 5 gold, 4 silver, and 13 bronze medals. Iraq also ranked 17th and fourth in the Arab world with 14 medals, including 3 gold, 6 silver, and 5 bronze medals.
For his part, Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmuk Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Dubai Equestrian Club, praised the historic achievement achieved by the riders of the UAE endurance team during their participation in the third edition of the Asian Youth Games, after they were crowned with four colored medals in the first appearance of endurance sports in the tournament’s competitions. He said in press statements: “This success comes as a translation of the unlimited support of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of the UAE. Dubai, may God protect him, also embodies the distinguished level and great efforts being made to develop this authentic sport linked to the identity and ancient history of the UAE.”
Sheikh Rashid bin Dalmouk Al Maktoum added: “We are proud of the group of knights who raised the UAE flag high in this continental forum with all merit and merit, keeping the name of the nation in mind at every stage of the competition. When the goal and objective is to always see the nation’s flag raised, efforts and endeavors are multiplied to achieve the best results, and the riders of our team have embodied the highest meanings of loyalty and belonging, with their determination and insistence on finishing the race in the lead, which resulted in this remarkable achievement, which is an honorable page in the record of the UAE’s participations.”
He continued: “This achievement establishes a new stage in the journey of endurance sports, which has become a difficult figure on the global sports scene, thanks to the promising generations it has that represent the nation in the best possible way in various age groups. “What has been achieved in Bahrain is the result of a leadership vision and continuous support for the Emirati equestrian journey, which continues to consolidate its position at the regional and global levels.”

The Director General of the Dubai Equestrian Club and the Technical Director of the Emirates Endurance Team, Ahmed Rashid Al Kaabi, expressed his pride in what the Emirates riders presented in the competitions of the third edition of the Asian Youth Games hosted by Bahrain, and their achievement of four colorful medals, indicating that the participation was successful and honorable, and reflected the high level of Emirati endurance sports.
He said in press statements: “During the 119-kilometre endurance race, the riders of the UAE national team demonstrated a distinguished performance characterized by professionalism, commitment and tactical discipline, despite the strong competition and the participation of an elite group of experienced Asian teams.”
He added: “Our knights are accustomed to participating and shining in major sporting competitions, and providing the best results and levels, based on willpower and determination, and their constant keenness to honor the nation and raise the UAE flag in various international forums.”
He concluded: “Participation in the (Youth Masters) represents an important milestone in refining the skills of promising riders, and preparing a new generation of endurance champions capable of continuing the path of Emirati achievements in this ancient sport.”



Al-Sabousi: The Knights’ commitment and serious preparation are behind the Asian achievement
The coach of the UAE endurance team, Mohammed Al-Sabousi, confirmed that winning all the medals in the endurance competition for the individual and team categories at the Asian Youth Games reflects the high status that endurance sports have reached in the UAE, and the great development it is witnessing at various levels.
He said in press statements: “What the Emirates Knights presented in this major continental event is the result of long work and intense efforts in preparation, as they showed high commitment and great discipline during the training stages, which was clearly reflected in the outstanding performance during the competitions, as they proved that team spirit, persistence, and determination are the keys to success in this sport that requires focus and patience until the end.”
