The General Auditing Office’s win of the award was the culmination of a comprehensive transformation led by the Office in terms of practices and methodologies in the profession of financial auditing and performance review in The Kingdom, and qualitative contributions at the international level through multiple positions and decision-making leadership to shape the future.

He applied for this award with a file full of achievements and global leadership, and his leadership included a digital transformation in the field of auditing through the digital audit system (Shamel platform), which represents a pioneering qualitative experience that counterpart agencies from various countries of the world are interested in learning about and being inspired by in implementing audit tasks in their comprehensive sense.

In addition to his qualitative transformation in financial auditing methodologies according to work methodologies that are in line with International Standards for Supreme Audit Institutions (ISSAIs) issued by INTOSAI, aligned with standards issued by the International Auditing and Assurance Standards Board (IAASB); With the aim of improving the quality of audit work and maximizing its impact.

The Bureau was distinguished by its contributions in the field of building professional human capital specialized in the fields of accounting and auditing, and the launch of many digital platforms to refine capabilities, and various training programs that meet the need of the Arab auditor in acquiring the latest expertise and skills in the field of auditing and accounting.

This prestigious award, which was known as the (Jörg Kandewich Award), began being presented a year ago. 1981 AD, and at that time it was named after Dr. Kandewich, one of the most prominent figures in the history of INTOSAI, and it was awarded regularly on the basis of the criteria for distinguished contributions to INTOSAI.

The Bureau received it for the first time in 1989 AD, and the United States regulatory body was the last to win it in 2022 AD, then the criteria for the award and its name were updated to focus on contributing to shaping the future of the auditing profession and innovation in it.
