A memorandum of understanding to support innovation in the “Internet of Things” and accelerate digital transformation

InfraX, a subsidiary of DEWA Digital, the digital arm of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority, signed a memorandum of understanding with Cumulocity, one of the companies specialized in providing Internet of Things platforms. This agreement establishes a framework for strategic cooperation between the two sides with the aim of exploring opportunities for developing Internet of Things (IoT) solutions, developing joint business, and implementing major projects of common interest. The memorandum of understanding was signed between the Director of Commercial Affairs at InfraX, Yasser Abdullah Al-Bahindi, and the Vice President of Cumulocity for the Internet of Things in the Middle East, Turkey and Africa region, Nasri Nasser Al-Din.

InfraX Chief Operating Officer, Rashid Al Ahmadi, said: “The memorandum of understanding with Cumulocity reflects InfraX’s strategic commitment to contribute to enhancing readiness for the digital future in the UAE by accelerating the pace of innovation in the fields of the Internet of Things (IoT) and artificial intelligence (AI).

Through this cooperation, we seek to build an integrated digital system that enhances intelligence, efficiency and sustainability across various sectors, in a way that supports the country’s vision towards building an interconnected and technologically advanced economy.” The partnership will also focus on developing a joint go-to-market strategy, combining InfraX’s strong digital infrastructure and local expertise, with Cumulocity’s advanced technical capabilities in the field of Internet of Things.

This cooperation will contribute to enabling institutions, utility companies, and smart city initiatives to apply smart communication technologies, allowing real-time monitoring and predictive maintenance.

Nasri Nasser Al-Din said: “Our cooperation with (InfraX) reflects our shared vision in leading large-scale digital transformation through smart connectivity. “By combining InfraX’s infrastructure with Cumulocity’s IoT platform, we are laying the foundations for building a smarter, data-driven future, where organizations and cities are able to innovate, expand, and operate efficiently and sustainably.”
