The Cairo Puppet Troupe continues its intense artistic activity during November

New shows and public tours confirm the role of puppet theater in consolidating artistic and human values
As part of the Ministry of Culture’s keenness to support children’s arts and expand the base of theatrical taste among new generations, the Cairo Puppet Troupe, led by Dr. Osama Mohamed Ali, continues its intensive artistic activity during the month of November, under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Fouad Hanno, Minister of Culture, and within a plan The Theater Artistic House, affiliated with the Cultural Production Sector, is headed by director Hisham Atwa, to present artistic performances aimed at children and the general public at the same time.
The theatrical show “Marwan and the Pomegranate” is being shown on the stage of the Cairo Puppet Theater in Ataba. Directed by Yasser Abdel Maqsoud, on Thursdays and Fridays every week at seven in the evening until mid-November, as part of the troupe’s program that aims to present works that link artistic enjoyment and instilling noble human values, in an exciting theatrical format that attracts children and nourishes their imagination with creative images and high-end educational symbols.
The troupe also participates in the Cairo International Festival for Arab Children in its third session, which is held at the Academy of Arts during the period from 10 until 14 November, when on November 11 the theatrical show “She and the Little Red Riding Hood” will be presented. Directed by Nadia Al-Shuwaikh, within the framework of cultural and artistic exchange between Arab bands participating in the festival that celebrates childhood arts and creativity.
The band will then embark on an artistic tour in the governorates starting on November 15, to present the famous show “The Big Night.” Words by the poet Salah Jaheen and directed by Salah El-Sakka, in cooperation with the Roaming and Confrontation Troupe led by the artist Mohamed El-Sharqawi, as part of the Ministry of Culture’s plan to bring theatrical performances to the various regions of Egypt, and spread artistic awareness among the people of the country in the governorates and villages.
The troupe concludes its busy activity during the month by participating in the Seventh Forum for Araguz and Traditional Puppetry, held during the period from 26 to 28 November 2025, which celebrates With folk puppet and puppet arts, it contributes to preserving the authentic artistic heritage and highlighting it as part of the Egyptian cultural identity.
Dr. Osama Mohamed Ali stressed that the band’s activity during this month reflects the vision of the Ministry of Culture in integrating art with education and human values, pointing out that puppetry and theater directed at children is not only entertainment, but an educational and aesthetic means that contributes to shaping the awareness of new generations and enhancing the spirit of belonging.
