" Sharjah Animation Conference" It opens wide horizons for publishers

Sharjah, 4 November / WAM / The Sharjah Animation Conference opened new horizons for cooperation between publishers and international animation studios through its participation in a special pavilion in the 15th session of the International Publishers Conference, which brought together 1,300 publishers from 116 countries and presented its vision for converting books into visual content and facilitating the purchase and sale of rights between publishers and production companies, in a step that confirms its pioneering role in building bridges between global creative sectors.

The conference pavilion at the exhibition presented an integrated interactive experience that combined knowledge and technology, through which it showcased practical tools that integrate stories into new media, including tablets and virtual reality technologies, in cooperation with the conference’s strategic partner, “Wacom,” the company specialized in manufacturing devices intended for painters and image animation artists.

VRwareEdu’s Story Builder application presented an interactive vision of the future of storytelling. This application, which is based on metaverse technology, provides users with the opportunity to create and experiment with their own digital picture books by combining images, adding stickers and speech bubbles, in addition to recording their voices in a practical experiment on ways to reimagine stories and present them digitally to audiences.

The conference pavilion hosted a Japanese delegation that included publishers and representatives of animation studios to meet their Arab and international counterparts with the aim of exchanging expertise and experiences and promoting international exchange in the field of converting books into animation projects.

Khawla Al Majini, Executive Director of the Sharjah Animation Conference, said: “During our participation, we witnessed a remarkable interaction from international and Arab publishers who expressed an increasing interest in learning about the mechanisms of converting their books into animated works. This direct dialogue opened new horizons for practical cooperation between the publishing industry and the visual content industry.”

This participation comes as an extension of the great success achieved by the Sharjah Animation Conference 2025, which attracted more than 5,000 participants and included an integrated program presented by more than 74 international experts from various fields of visual arts and content creation.

In its latest edition, the conference focused on global storytelling and the role of artificial intelligence in developing creative production and the cultural impact of animation, stressing the importance of building a sustainable creative system in the Middle East, North Africa and the African continent.

Through its presence at the Publishers’ Conference, the Sharjah Animation Conference continues to consolidate its position as a strategic platform linking publishing and the visual content industry and opening new horizons for transforming books into animation works and television and cinema series that contribute to strengthening the global creative economy.
