Esmat: 60 billion pounds is the cost of transmitting electricity to agricultural development projects

Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, confirmed that the total cost of projects to provide electrical energy necessary for agricultural development projects on which Egypt’s Future Authority is based in the New Delta, the Toshka areas, the Minya farms, the Beni Suef farms, and the Sinai Rifts amounted to 60 billion pounds, within the framework of the state’s comprehensive and integrated vision to develop the desert and maximize the use of natural resources.
Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, made a field visit to the sources of electricity supply for the new Delta projects, during which he checked on the operation of the transformer stations and cranes, which have been subjected to voltage during the past months, and the quality and continuity of the electrical supply, and inspected the progress of the work and the final stages of implementing the ND5 transformer station, voltage 220/66/11 kilovolts, capacity 350 MVA, in preparation for putting voltage on them and launching the current at the beginning of next month, as one of the sources of providing the necessary electrical supply. For agricultural development projects in the new delta, within the framework of the work plan, and providing the necessary electrical supply for agricultural development projects, land reclamation and the establishment of new agricultural industrial communities, and in light of the ongoing field follow-up of the work of implementing projects to provide the necessary electrical supply for agricultural development projects within the scope of the work of the Egyptian Future Agency for Sustainable Development. The electrical supply needed for agricultural development projects within the scope of the work of Egypt’s Future Agency for Sustainable Development.
Dr. Mahmoud Esmat inspected the developments in the implementation of work at the station and the control center, the completion of the implementation of the connection lines on the various voltages, and the quality of the electrical supply on the two 220 kilovolt lines on which the voltage was applied through alternative sources. Dr. Essmat reviewed the timeline and specific timing for project delivery, the implementation rate, the preparation of working teams, and other data to confirm the start of operation. Early next month, within the framework of the commitment to provide the necessary nutrition for agricultural development projects and the timing of crop planting.
Dr. Esmat continued the implementation of the urgent plan through which work was made to provide temporary sources of nutrition to meet all needs until the transformer stations are completed and connected to the network, within the framework of the work plan to provide the necessary electrical nutrition and find sustainable solutions to maintain the stability of the unified national network and improve the quality of nutrition.
Dr. Mahmoud Esmat said: The electricity sector is implementing a national project to provide electrical energy for agricultural and industrial development projects within the scope of the work of the Egypt Future Agency for Sustainable Development, which includes 9 new delta transformer stations divided into 6 220/66/11 transformer stations with a total capacity of 2100 MVA, 3 66/11 kV transformer stations with a total capacity of 320 MVA, and 15 lines. Connecting lengths of 500 kilometers, divided into 9 circuits with a voltage of 220 kV, and 6 circuits with a voltage of 66 kV.
He added that the project includes transformer stations for pigeon winches as a northern source of supply, and there are 4 stations divided into two stations with a voltage of 220/66/11 kV, with a total capacity of 700 MVA, and two stations with a voltage of 220/66/11 kV. 66/11, with a total capacity of 240 MVA, and 7 interconnection lines with lengths of up to 130 km, divided into 3 circuits with a voltage of 220 kV, and 4 circuits with a voltage of 66 kV.
He explained that the Rafa’at Rasheed transformer stations are an eastern source of supply, and include 3 transformer stations, divided into two stations with a voltage of 220/66/11. A kilovolt with a total capacity of 700 MVA, a 66/11 kV station with a capacity of 120 MVA, and 5 connecting lines with lengths of up to 30 kilometers, divided into 3 220 kV circuits, and two 66 kV circuits, with a total cost amounting to 35 billion pounds.
