"Ducab" Develops nuclear power cables with an operational life of 120 years

Abu Dhabi, 4 November / WAM / Charles Milague, CEO of the Cables Business Unit at the Ducab Group, confirmed that the group is continuing to implement ambitious global expansion plans, based on innovation and quality, to enhance the role of the Emirati industry in supporting the global transition towards clean energy.

In statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, on the sidelines of the ADIPEC 2025 exhibition, Milagui revealed Ducab’s leadership as one of the few global companies capable of developing specialized cables for nuclear energy. He pointed out that the company is currently working on producing a new generation with an operational life of up to 120 years (compared to 60 years currently), and stressed that this development reflects the international reliance on its products, which have supported the Barakah nuclear power plants and similar projects in South Korea.

He stressed that Ducab is enhancing its production capabilities to meet global demand, explaining that the strategic acquisition of the National Cables Factory in Oman will increase productivity by about 20,000 tons of cables annually. He pointed out that this expansion, in addition to the six factories in the Emirates, provides a logistical platform to enhance exports, which currently reach 75 countries, and to support African markets in particular.

The group has an annual production capacity of (300,000 tons of copper, 300,000 tons of aluminum, and 400,000 tons of cables), and has contributed to supplying major infrastructure and clean energy projects, such as “Shams 1” and “Mohammed bin Rashid Solar Park,” in addition to other projects in Australia, Africa, and Europe.
