Hamdan bin Mohammed witnesses part of the national exercise for “Emergencies and Crises” and “Cybersecurity”

His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence, witnessed part of the multi-sectoral national exercise carried out by the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, in cooperation with the Cybersecurity Council, as part of the work of the annual meetings of the UAE government 2025.
This exercise – which simulates complex scenarios that include a hurricane, severe climate fluctuations, and simultaneous cyber attacks – comes within the framework of the UAE’s efforts to enhance national preparedness and integration between federal and local agencies, and to test the efficiency of the coordination and response system in the face of complex crises, which reflects the country’s approach to enhancing flexibility and proactiveness within the national crisis management system.
49 national entities from various vital sectors participated in the exercise, working in an integrated manner according to realistic scenarios that simulate field, technical and media challenges, ensuring business continuity and rapid response in emergency situations.
Latest practices
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority confirmed that the exercise represents an advanced model of cooperation between various state institutions, and embodies the directives of the wise leadership aimed at raising the efficiency of the national response system and adopting the latest practices in crisis management.
The Authority explained that it led and coordinated the exercise, according to advanced mechanisms that ensure performance monitoring and response analysis across all levels.
Enhance readiness
The head of the National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, Ali Saeed Al Neyadi, stressed the authority’s continued commitment to enhancing national preparedness and response in the face of various types of risks, through implementing realistic exercises that combine field and technology, and enhance coordination between partners in all vital sectors.
For his part, Chairman of the Cybersecurity Council, Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti, said that the implementation of this exercise reflects the UAE’s keenness to strengthen cybersecurity as an essential part of the national security system, and to ensure the protection of vital infrastructure, in light of the increasing global digital threats.
The National Emergency, Crisis and Disaster Management Authority and the Cybersecurity Council concluded by emphasizing that participation in the annual meetings of the UAE government comes within the framework of the vision of the wise leadership to consolidate the UAE’s position as a global model in preparedness, sustainability, and future crisis management, through integrating national efforts, unifying the response system, and enhancing flexibility in the face of various types of risks.
