The Emirates Tourism Council reviews its new projects for the coming year

Abu Dhabi, 6 November / WAM / The Emirates Tourism Council held its fourth meeting for the year 2025, chaired by His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, and membership of the heads and general directors of local tourism bodies in the country, and in the presence of representatives of the Federal Center for Competitiveness and Statistics.

During the meeting, which was held recently via video communication technologies, a group of new tourism projects that the Council intends to implement during the next year were reviewed, within the framework of its plans aimed at enhancing the growth of UAE tourism and supporting the competitiveness of its components. The members also followed up on the recommendations and outcomes that were accomplished from the previous meeting.

During the meeting, His Excellency Abdullah bin Touq stressed that the UAE has paid great attention to developing the tourism sector, as it is a major tributary in promoting the growth of the national economy, as the country has worked to develop sustainable policies, strategies and projects in this vital sector, which has contributed to providing distinct and unique tourism experiences to tourists from all over the world, and achieving qualitative achievements that have strengthened the leadership of UAE tourist attractions and destinations at the regional and global levels.

His Excellency said: “The Council’s new tourism projects and initiatives represent an important step in enhancing the growth and competitiveness of the tourism sector by enhancing national work to highlight tourism diversity, developing tourism products, and providing a distinguished digital infrastructure for tourism information in the country in accordance with the best practices followed, which contributes to raising the UAE’s position as the best tourism identity around the world, and creating a sustainable tourism sector in light of the objectives of (We Are the UAE Vision 2031).”

In detail, the Council discussed the completion of the “Updating Tourism Data” project in cooperation between the relevant federal and local authorities in the country, as the project aims to create a comprehensive national platform for tourism information, based on the principles of accuracy and transparency in measuring tourism performance indicators, and enabling the smooth exchange of data and information between various relevant authorities and bodies.

The meeting reviewed a number of new tourism projects that the Council plans to implement during the coming year, and their vital role in supporting the achievement of the objectives of the “National Tourism Strategy 2031”, as these projects focus on developing and diversifying tourism products in the various emirates of the country, and promoting digital transformation in the tourism sector by adopting innovative solutions and modern technologies, in addition to localizing sustainability in all tourism activities and services, ensuring the enhancement of the quality of the tourism experience for visitors, and supporting the competitiveness of the UAE tourism sector.

The meeting discussed the ongoing preparations for launching the sixth edition of the “The Most Beautiful Winter in the World” campaign, including opportunities for cooperation with influencers and digital platforms with the aim of enhancing the positive image of destinations and tourist attractions in the UAE on a regional and global scale, and highlighting its natural and cultural diversity and unique tourism experiences, in addition to expanding the campaign’s reach and reaching the largest segment of the target audience around the world through innovative marketing campaigns and modern digital communication methods.

The new version of the campaign is scheduled to be launched next December, coinciding with the advent of winter, which is one of the most important tourist seasons in the country. This campaign comes as a continuation of the successes achieved in its previous editions, especially since its fifth edition was able to achieve hotel revenues exceeding 1.9 billion dirhams, and contributed to highlighting more than 290 tourist destinations in various emirates of the country, making it an inspiring model of cooperation between federal and local authorities and the private sector in supporting the national tourism sector and enhancing the competitiveness of the UAE’s position. As a leading global tourist destination.

In another axis, the Council discussed ways to strengthen the tourism partnership between the UAE and the Sultanate of Oman in the fields of tourism and heritage, and the importance of facilitating the movement of visitors and tourists between the two sister countries during the next stage, as well as expanding opportunities for cooperation in the fields of tourism investment, innovation, training and capacity building, in addition to enhancing sustainability practices in projects and tourist destinations, which reflects the depth of the fraternal relations that unite the two countries and their common interest in developing this vital sector.
