"Emirates Medicine" Pulls out Thai defector "Yadom" Because it is contaminated with microbes… and calls for stopping its use

Dubai, 7 November / WAM / The Emirates Pharmaceutical Corporation announced the withdrawal of the product “Hong Tai Herbal Inhaler (Yiadom), the Thai inhaler, from all markets in the country, after microbial contamination was proven in a number of batches of the product traded locally, in order to ensure the health and safety of patients and society.
The institution stated that the action was initiated following an official warning issued by the Thai Food and Drug Authority regarding the contamination of one batch of the product. Accordingly, the corporation took immediate steps to ensure the safety of the remaining operations in the country.
The corporation confirmed that laboratory tests conducted by its quality laboratory on samples withdrawn from the market showed the presence of microbial contamination that exceeds the permissible limits for inhalation preparations according to the international pharmacopoeia, which may pose a potential risk to the health of users.
As a result, the corporation took the decision to withdraw the product in all its batches from the market, and not to limit itself to the batches included in the Thai warning, and asked community members not to use the product and dispose of any containers they had.
The Foundation indicated that the withdrawals are carried out in coordination with the municipalities and relevant regulatory authorities to ensure that the product is removed from all sales outlets, including electronic stores.
The Corporation confirmed that these measures are part of its strategy aimed at consolidating the drug security system in the country and ensuring the sustainable availability of medicines with the highest standards of quality and safety.
It stressed that its integrated regulatory system relies on proactive risk analysis and monitoring of supply chains, in cooperation with federal and local health authorities, and the adoption of digital solutions and artificial intelligence in tracking pharmaceutical products.
