Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairwoman of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, met with a group of craftsmen and owners of small and emerging creative projects, participating in the activities of the eleventh edition of Dubai Design Week, which is held in a strategic partnership with Dubai Design District, the leading design destination in the region and a subsidiary of the TECOM Group, and with the support of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority.
During the meeting, Her Highness learned about the experiences of entrepreneurs in establishing and developing businesses, and listened to their aspirations and the challenges they face to explore future support opportunities. She also listened to some success stories in this field.
Her Highness praised the inspiring ideas that turned into projects and businesses on the ground thanks to the determination and determination of their owners to succeed, stressing that Dubai will remain a land of opportunities that opens its doors to creatives and talents, and works to empower them to achieve their ambitions, which contributes to consolidating Dubai’s position as an environment that supports the growth and continuity of entrepreneurship, and a global destination for the creative economy.
Her Highness noted the value of this event and its impact in supporting qualified people and entrepreneurs in the sector, enabling and encouraging them to present their unique experiences, express their visions and qualitative ideas, and transform their emerging projects into a sustainable economic resource, which strengthens the emirate’s position as a global center for the creative economy.
The market, whose activities will be held today and tomorrow, celebrates cultural heritage and handicrafts, as it hosts a group of craftsmen and specialists in handmade products, and includes more than 90 emerging brands, allowing visitors to discover a wide variety of household items, jewelry, and fashion, in addition to innovative and sustainable modern lifestyle products. It also provides an integrated experience that combines design, culinary experiments, children’s activities, and live musical performances, opening the way for communication and interaction among all members of the audience.
The market’s activities are held outdoors, and it receives the attention and support of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, which annually provides grants to 10 emerging Emirati companies within the “Dubai Cultural Grant” program, to encourage their owners to be creative and continue to innovate in the cultural and artistic fields, which reflects the Authority’s efforts and commitment to developing the culture and arts sector and supporting Dubai’s creative economy.
