Dubai, November 9 / WAM / The activities of the 25th edition of the Fazza Youth Championship and the 21st edition of the Al-Maidan Programme, were launched at Al-Maidan Castle in Al-Marmoum, amid a large audience.

The launch had a renewed character, reflected in the environment inspired by the Emirates Furjan, which gave the field a vibrant spirit and a visual aesthetic that brings to mind the memory of the place.

The first episode of the tournament witnessed a strong competition between four Al-Yawla members who performed outstandingly, with Obaid Al Ali from Umm Al-Quwain and Salem Faisal Al-Hawz from Dubai qualifying for the second stage, after excelling in the Al-Yawla challenge that decided the result of the round.

The organizing committee decided to set up six challenges, including Al-Yawla, Qasid Counting, Swimming, Archery, Shaddad Installation, and Camel Racing, in a combination of authenticity and physical skill.

The season began with the presentation of the new Al-Maidan song, entitled “Salt of the Emirates,” written by His Excellency Abdullah Hamdan bin Dalmouk, CEO of the Hamdan Bin Mohammed Center for the Revival of Heritage, and performed by the artist Mehd Hamad and composed by Fayez Al-Saeed, while Khalifa Bin Sabeen was the judge, and the episode was presented by Rashid Al-Khasouni, Director of the Fazza Championships Department, and it was broadcast on the Sama Dubai channels and Al-Oula Radio 107.4 FM.

His Excellency Abdullah bin Dalmouk stressed that the Fazza Yula Championship represents a pillar in the process of preserving the Emirati heritage in a way that combines authenticity and innovation, pointing out that drawing inspiration from the atmosphere of Al Furjan reflects the center’s keenness to keep the heritage close to the public and enhance the national identity of the new generations.

He added that the current season is witnessing a development in the quality of the challenges and the addition of new skills such as installing the shaddad for camels, which contributes to highlighting the talents of the participants and reviving the popular heritage in a competitive atmosphere that reflects the status of the Fazza championships in the country and the region.
