"Collection of words" The presence of Arabic children’s literature expanded to 1,000 publications

Sharjah, March 30 / WAM / Since its establishment in Sharjah in 2007, Kalimat Group has been working to expand the presence of Arabic children’s literature in the publishing and reading markets worldwide. It has led qualitative efforts in developing the children’s book publishing industry and delivering Arabic stories to new readers in multiple languages and markets. The group has published more than 1,000 titles and built a distribution network that includes more than 130 distributors around the world.

The group’s record of achievements was strengthened through its presence in the most important platforms of the global publishing industry, most notably the Bologna International Children’s Book Fair, where Kalimat won the award for the best children’s book publisher in Asia. This presence also continued to achieve qualitative achievements, and the book “House of Wisdom” by Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, head of the group, won the prestigious “Bologna Ragazzi” award in children’s literature in the storybook category, which reflects the ability of Arabic content to compete in the most prominent international awards specialized in children’s literature.

Ahmed Al-Ali, General Manager of Kalimat Group, said that the group views children’s literature as a long-term investment in building the human being, through which the first beginnings of imagination, language, and the ability to understand oneself and the world are formed. He noted that a book that reaches a child in his early years not only presents him with a story, but also contributes to forming his aesthetic sense, expanding his cognitive horizon, and consolidating his relationship with reading as an ongoing daily act.

Kalimat Group expands access to books and promotes the culture of reading among new generations through cultural and educational initiatives, including the “A World of Stories Awaits You” initiative, which it launched to establish 120 libraries in children’s wards and play areas in hospitals and medical centers throughout the UAE, with the aim of making reading part of the recovery experience and psychological support for children.
