Kremlin: Putin did not issue any instructions to prepare for nuclear tests

The Russian presidential spokesman, the Kremlin, said: Dmitry Peskov said that Russian President Vladimir Putin did not issue any instructions to begin preparations for nuclear weapons tests. We should have done this, this should be a serious, justified and thoughtful decision, so our experts will work on it.”
In this context, the Permanent Representative of Russia to international organizations in Vienna, Mikhail Ulyanov, stated that Russia calls on the United States to take advantage of the opportunity of the next regular session of the Preparatory Committee for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty to clarify its position on nuclear tests.
Ulyanov said: “The session of the Preparatory Committee for the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty begins.” Tomorrow. It will be a good opportunity for the United States to explain its position on nuclear testing. These explanations are long overdue, and this topic will be a focus and will raise many questions and comments.”
Earlier, US President Donald Trump stated that he had instructed the Pentagon to immediately resume nuclear weapons testing, noting that other countries had already begun to do so. Trump did not specify what type of tests he was referring to or whether they would include detonating nuclear warheads.
