The US Secretary of Defense calls on the Chief of Staff to resign

Request US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth asked Army Chief of Staff Gen. Randy George to resign and immediately retire, informed sources told CBS News
One source said Hegseth wants to appoint someone to the position who is able to implement President Trump’s vision and Hegseth’s vision for the military.
A senior Defense Department official told CBS News: "We are grateful for his service, but it is time for a change in leadership in the Army"
George had previously served as Senior Military Assistant to Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin during the period from 2021 to 2022, during the Biden administration, after decades of service.
