The largest since World War II.. The White House requests a defense budget of 1.5 trillion dollars

The White House requested Congressapproved a huge defense budget of $1.5 trillion for next year, in the midst of the war with Iran.

The request stated that "The budget is based on historical total defense spending for 2026 of $1 trillion, and requests $1.5 trillion in total budget resources for 2027.".

He added that "Represents an increase of $445 billion, or 42%, over the total resource level for 2026"

This total increase will be the largest on an annual basis since World War II, according to American media.
