Social media fans re-published old statements by Egyptian artist Dina El-Sherbiny, coinciding with widespread news about her romantic relationship with an Egyptian artist.

She then recounted a difficult personal experience she lived years ago, where she was betrayed by her closest friend after the latter became involved with her lover at the time.

During her meeting with Emirati journalist Anas Bukhash on his famous program AB Talks, she talked about her feelings at that time, after he asked her a question about the phenomenon of some women being attached to their friends’ husbands or lovers.

Dina responded by saying: “I noticed that this phenomenon occurs more among girls. Why would a woman take her friend’s man? Especially when she is the closest one to her!”

She continued: “The matter will be easier because she knows all the details of the relationship, and this makes betrayal more painful. But in the end, no one steals a man from his wife. He is the one who goes according to his mood.”
