Secretary General "Khalifa Date Palm Award" It emphasizes the award’s role in supporting farmers and promoting agricultural innovation

Giza, November 10 / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Abdul Wahab Al-Bukhari Zaid, Secretary General of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation, emphasized the pioneering role played by the award in supporting farmers and promoting agricultural innovation in cooperation with the Ministry of Industry in the Arab Republic of Egypt, during the activities of the Egypt International Date Palm Festival, which concludes today and lasted for three days in the Bahariya Oasis in Giza Governorate.

He added that the award is keen to involve academics and farmers from various Arab and international countries in the festival’s activities, by organizing special pavilions to display their products and experiences, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences in the field of palm cultivation, date production and the development of related industries.

He pointed out that the efforts of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation extend to programs to combat agricultural pests, improve production quality, and increase farm efficiency, through qualitative initiatives that support the transfer of modern technology and the application of the best sustainable agricultural practices in the field of palms and dates.

He stressed that these efforts come in implementation of the directives of the UAE’s wise leadership, which pays great attention to developing the palm and date sector at the Arab and international levels, and enhancing the UAE’s position as a global center for agricultural innovation, and a pioneering model in supporting agricultural communities and achieving food security.

Dr. Zaid pointed out that the Egyptian Dates Festival in the Bahariya Oasis represents a distinguished platform for regional and international cooperation, and an opportunity to highlight the joint successes between the UAE and Egypt in supporting agricultural development and enhancing ways of sustainability and agricultural production.

The festival was attended by His Excellency Abdul Baset Mohammed Abdullah Al Marzouqi, Minister Plenipotentiary and Deputy Head of the UAE Mission in Cairo, and during the tour he was briefed on the Emirati pavilions participating in the festival, including the pavilion of the Khalifa International Award for Date Palm and Agricultural Innovation and the Al Foah and CAF Date Palm Companies, and the latest innovations and modern methods in growing, manufacturing, packing and wrapping dates, in addition to distinguished pavilions for handicraft products and traditional industries from various governorates and participating countries.
