After lifting the metal embargo, China suspends port fees on American ships

China announced today, Monday, that it will suspend port fees imposed on American ships or those associated with the United States for one year, in a move to calm the ongoing trade tensions between the two superpowers.
The Chinese Ministry of Transport said, in a statement, that the suspension will begin from 13:01 local time.
Last October, China announced the imposition of Fees "especially" on American ships in its ports in response to the fees imposed by Washington on ships made in China or those operated by Chinese companies and arriving in the United States.
These fees applied to ships owned or chartered by American companies.
In a separate context, yesterday, Sunday, China suspended the ban on the export of Trade War, China sought to exploit its control over basic metals used in various industries, from smartphones to advanced military technology, as a pressure card.
Although gallium, antimony, and germanium are not classified as rare earth metals, they are vital to entire sectors.
