BPG appoints Tim Baker as President of BPG Arabia to lead the growth of its business in Saudi Arabia

BPG Group, a member of the WPP network and a leading marketing solutions company, announced the appointment of digital marketing expert Tim Baker as President of BPG Arabia to lead the sector’s business in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and enhance its integrated digital presence in the market.
Baker has more than two decades of experience leading communications and media organizations, having played a prominent role in establishing and developing some of the most successful digital and integrated agencies in the UK and the Gulf region. His appointment comes to lead BPG Arabia’s ambitious expansion plans and drive innovation and growth in a market witnessing rapid digital transformation.
In his new position, Baker will lead the expansion of the group’s operations in the Kingdom, and enhance integration between the areas of strategy, creativity, content, public relations, means of communication and modern technologies, in addition to working with clients to provide communication solutions based on data and insights to support the Kingdom’s ambitions.
Commenting on his appointment, Baker said: “Returning to the region to lead BPG in Saudi Arabia, one of the most vibrant and ambitious markets in the world, is something special as the Kingdom is witnessing an unprecedented transformation, resulting from the intersection of technology and creativity, which opens broad horizons for brands and agencies ready to innovate.”

Tim Baker began his career in the UK during the dot-com boom where he worked with Nestlé UK and Initiative Media London and led Unilever’s European brand strategy. He moved to Dubai in 2005, where he led the expansion of Initiative Media in the Gulf, before co-founding the Hug Digital agency in 2010, which became one of the first digital agencies in the region and grew to include 200 employees in Dubai, Riyadh, Cairo and India, before selling it to WPP in 2018 and integrating it into the AKQA network.
