"Zayed for people of determination" Sign a memorandum of understanding with "International Disability Alliance"

Abu Dhabi, November 12 / WAM / The Zayed Authority for People of Determination signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Disability Alliance, with the aim of exchanging knowledge and experiences and coordinating global initiatives to empower people of determination, in a way that enhances the leadership role of the UAE in the field of social inclusion and sustainable development.
The memorandum was signed, on the sidelines of the UAE’s participation in the Second World Summit for Social Development, which was held under the umbrella of the United Nations in the Qatari capital, Doha, by His Excellency Abdullah Abdul Ali Al-Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, and Dr. Nawaf Kabbara, President of the International Disability Alliance, in the presence of a number of representatives of international organizations and experts participating in the summit.
The memorandum comes within the framework of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination’s keenness to build strategic partnerships with the most prominent international organizations working in the field of the rights of people of determination, which contributes to expanding the scope of international cooperation in the fields of training, research, exchanging successful experiences, and organizing joint initiatives at the global level.
The terms of the memorandum of understanding include cooperation in supporting the World Disability Summit 2028 by providing technical consultations and expertise, and exploring the possibility of Abu Dhabi hosting the World Disability Summit 2031 in cooperation with the International Disability Alliance, in addition to organizing workshops and training programs that enhance the exchange of knowledge and social innovation to serve the issues of people of determination.
His Excellency Abdullah Al-Humaidan said that the memorandum of understanding constitutes a new step in the path of international cooperation adopted by the Authority and the UAE to promote social justice and empower people of determination, pointing out that the Zayed Authority for People of Determination believes that inclusion is not a slogan, but rather a national and humanitarian commitment that is translated into practical policies that make a real impact on people’s lives.
His Excellency stressed that the goal through this strategic partnership is to unify international efforts to support policies and practices that guarantee rights and open broader horizons for community participation for people of determination, in line with the Authority’s 2026 strategy, which focuses on empowerment, sustainability, innovation, and community inclusion.
Dr. Nawaf Kabbara said that the UAE’s experience in integrating and empowering people with disabilities is a model to be emulated at the international level, expressing their happiness through this memorandum about establishing a strong partnership with the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, which contributes to developing international initiatives and unifying efforts towards more just and inclusive societies.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two parties will cooperate in organizing joint side events during international conferences, participating in specialized committees of the United Nations, in addition to preparing reports and proposals for joint research and training initiatives based on global best practices.
This cooperation reflects the commitment of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination to continue the path of UAE leadership in building bridges of international cooperation, and to consolidate Abu Dhabi’s position as a global center for positive influence in the field of rights and empowerment of people of determination, within the vision of the wise leadership to make people the focus and goal of development.
