A Canadian-European statement confirms their firm commitment to a just and lasting peace based on the two-state solution

The European Union and Canada affirmed their firm commitment to a comprehensive, just and lasting peace based on a two-state solution in accordance with the relevant UN Security Council resolutions in which two democratic states, Israel and Palestine, live side by side in peace within secure and recognized borders.
In a statement issued after the fourth meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee between Canada and the European Union and distributed by the European Council in Brussels, the two sides stressed the importance of calm in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and called for an end to settler violence, including against Christian communities, and an end to the expansion of illegal settlements under international law, Israeli military operations, and terrorist attacks against Israel.
They welcomed the agreement reached regarding the first phase of the comprehensive plan to end the conflict in Gaza presented by US President Trump, as well as the results of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit, and urged all parties to fully commit to implementing all stages and to refrain from any actions that would undermine the agreement.
The two sides stressed that the agreement to resume humanitarian access is extremely important and must be fully implemented.
