The Egyptian Federation fines Zizou, Bezera, Al-Ahly and Zamalek due to the Super Cup incidents

The Competitions Committee of the Egyptian Football Association decided today, Wednesday, to punish Ahmed Mostafa (Zizou), the Al-Ahly player, and Juan Bezerra, the Zamalek player, in addition to fining the two clubs due to the events that occurred in the semi-final and final of the local Super Cup, which was held in the Emirates a few days ago.

Al-Ahly won the Egyptian Super Cup for the fifth time in a row, and 16th in total, with a 2-0 victory over its local rival, Zamalek, in the final match held last Sunday at Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

The Egyptian Federation added in a statement issued today on its Facebook page that the Competitions Committee decided to “impose a fine on Ahmed Mostafa Mohamed Sayed (Zizou), the Al-Ahly club player, worth 50,000 pounds (about 1,060 dollars), for not adhering to the protocol for the coronation ceremony.”

The punishment comes after television footage showed Zizou ignoring the handshake of Hisham Nasr, Vice President of Zamalek Club, on the podium during the medal and cup handing over ceremony after the end of the match.

The committee also decided to “impose a fine on Juan Alvina Bezerra, the Zamalek player, worth 50 thousand pounds, for not adhering to the protocol for the coronation ceremony,” after television footage showed him ignoring the Minister of Youth and Sports, Ashraf Sobhi, in addition to a group of officials, while they were on the podium after receiving the second place medal.

The statement continued that the Competitions Committee decided to “impose a fine on Zamalek Club worth 100,000 pounds, for collective insults from its fans in the final match against Al-Ahly, while imposing (another) fine on Zamalek worth 100,000 pounds, for collective insults from its fans in the semi-final match against Pyramids.”
The committee also fined Al-Ahly Club 100,000 pounds for collective insults from its fans in the final match against Zamalek.

The Competitions Committee also suspended “Kronoslav Jurcic, the coach of the Pyramids team, for one match and fined him ten thousand pounds, due to his expulsion for protesting during the match to determine the third and fourth places against Ceramica Cleopatra.”
