The Spanish League sets a historic record in crowd attendance

In the 2025-2026 season, the Spanish Football League (La Liga) set a new historical record in audience attendance, which reflects the exceptional momentum enjoyed by the tournament and confirms the strength of the relationship between Spanish football and its fans.
The total audience attendance for LaLiga EA Sports matches during the recently ended season reached 11,693,679 fans, exceeding the previous record, and confirming the upward trend witnessed by the competition in recent years. This number represents an increase of 4.2% compared to the 2024-2025 season.
The tournament also set a new record in stadium occupancy rate of 84.9%, in addition to achieving the highest average crowd attendance since the 2014-2015 season, with 31,018 spectators per match, which reflects the growing interest in the competition and the high level of loyalty among football fans.
The importance of these numbers increases when taking into account that a number of stadiums received fans at reduced capacities as a result of renovation and redevelopment work, including Barcelona’s “Spotify Camp Nou” stadium, Getafe’s “Colosseum” stadium, and Celta Vigo’s “Abanca Balaidos” stadium.
This historic achievement reflects the great efforts made by LaLiga EA Sports clubs to develop and modernize their infrastructure, with the aim of improving the fan experience and adapting the stadiums to the renewed aspirations of the fans.
The continued growth in crowd attendance and stadium occupancy rates confirms that professional football in Spain still enjoys great appeal and a solid status, both inside and outside the stadiums.
Although the final numbers for the “LaLiga Hypermotion” competition have not yet been announced, the Spanish Football League (LaLiga) views this new achievement with great optimism, as a reflection of the joint commitment between clubs and fans to continue enhancing the status of Spanish football, and building a more attractive and accessible experience for fans around the world.
