453 aircraft “on order” enhance the fleets of “Emirates Airlines” and “Flydubai”

According to the data, the number of aircraft “on order” with Emirates Airlines, by the end of last September, reached 306 aircraft, including 56 Airbus A350-900 aircraft, 170 Boeing 777-9 aircraft, 35 Boeing 777-8 aircraft, as well as 15 Boeing 787-10 aircraft, and 20 Boeing 787-10 aircraft. 787-8, in addition to 10 Boeing aircraft designated for air cargo.

As for Flydubai, it has 147 aircraft on order, including 117 Boeing 737 Max aircraft and 30 Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft.

During the previous sessions of the Dubai Air Show, the two carriers recorded record orders for aircraft as part of their efforts to expand and keep pace with global growth and the large demand for travel to and from Dubai. In November 2013, Emirates ordered 150 Boeing 777X aircraft, worth $76 billion, according to the price list.

In the November 2023 session, Emirates Airlines, which is the largest operator of Boeing 777 aircraft in the world, signed confirmed orders to purchase 55 additional “777-9” aircraft and 35 “777-8” aircraft powered by “GE-9X” engines, bringing the carrier’s total orders for “777X” aircraft to 205 aircraft.

In the same cycle (2023), Emirates Airlines expanded its previous order to purchase 30 “Boeing 787-9” aircraft, and also increased its commitment to a total of 35 “Dreamliner” aircraft, including 15 “787-10” aircraft, and 20 “787-8” aircraft.

In turn, during the Dubai Air Show in November 2013, Flydubai signed a second order for the company to purchase 75 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft and 11 new generation 737-800 aircraft worth $11.4 billion, and a third order for the carrier to purchase 225 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft worth $27 billion, representing the largest single-aisle aircraft order in the Middle East during the year. Flydubai revealed to Emirates Today that it is studying a deal to order aircraft, expecting the new order to be announced during the Dubai Air Show this November.

The Dubai Airshow is one of the most prominent global platforms specialized in the aviation and aerospace industry, where major manufacturers, operators and suppliers gather to showcase the latest technologies and display modern models of commercial and defense aircraft.

The activities of the 19th edition of the Dubai Airshow will start from November 17 to 21, in the largest edition of the global event, as it includes more than 1,500 of the most important aerospace and defense companies around the world from more than 47 countries, while the exhibition includes a total representation of 150 countries.

This year, the exhibition includes more than 200 of the latest aircraft, hosting more than 490 military and civilian delegations from 98 countries, 440 new exhibitors, and 18 national pavilions, while the exhibition is expected to attract about 148,000 visitors.
