Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi witnesses a meeting "Asmar podcast" Literary
Sharjah, 13 November / WAM / His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, witnessed, this Thursday evening, the literary “Asmar Podcast” meeting, as part of the activities of the Sharjah International Book Fair in the Thought Hall at the Expo Center Sharjah.
The podcast presenter, Dr. Faisal Al-Shahrani, and poets Abdullah Al-Anazi and Hosni Malik spoke at the meeting, where they discussed a number of topics about Arabic poetry, its uses, its great influence on Arab life, its media and cultural role, and the Arab community’s constant connection to it.
The speakers discussed the expression and ingenuity of Arab poets in their poems and collections through a journey into the depth of Arabic poetry, such as Al-Mutanabbi, Abu Firas Al-Hamdani, Abu Tammam, Al-Baradouni, Ahmed Shawqi and other Arab poets from different eras. The poems varied between love, flirtation, lamentation, descriptions of animals such as the lion and doves, wars, courage, satire, wisdom and smiles in Arabic poetry and sadness, and they presented various models for a large number of poets from different eras.
The speakers discussed the ingenuity of Arab poets in the wonderful uses of language in their poems, such as using full names or combining two contradictory purposes, such as poetry and describing scenes of fighting or death, without any imbalance in rhythm or meaning.
The speakers also presented a collection of stories from the lives of a number of poets that led to the writing of famous poems, in addition to comparisons between the most famous poems of Arabic poetry that discussed one topic and highlighted the excellence of each poet, especially in expressing human feelings such as sadness, self-pity, and praise.
At the beginning of the meeting, Abdullah Al-Anazi had recited a poem in love with Sharjah in which he expressed his love and gratitude for Sharjah, which has become a milestone in thought and knowledge for all thinkers, poets and intellectuals with its ongoing literary activities and events. In it, he said:
(They lied about their love, but only you are truthful
Silence makes you the most beautiful speaker
You get better over the years because
It may dazzle the burning bushes
What’s wrong with poetry in the night?
Feeling erected on the darkness his veil
Enough to make a story out of a candle
Coffee, an inkwell, and a loving memory
You exist in the maze, or you smile
In passion, the mother’s ribs are throbbing
A year ago was the day we met
A year ago, my soul was stuck in you
Hold the longing of the flute in my chest and in my mouth
From every experience there are stealing hands
Leave your letters to the sky, for you are the one
A stifling land narrows your meaning
A mermaid swears by a lover
That he had seen her on the beaches drowned
And a cloud in the drought, he realizes that he is thirsty
I am not as big as the towering stars
But he guides the lover if he desires
To gain more from being in love with his lover
Don’t memorize our names, perhaps
I lied to you and you are very honest
If you read our thoughts, you will find them
She said that there is no love except Sharjah.
