International musical and heritage performances on the second day of the National Tolerance Festival attract the audience

Abu Dhabi, November 16 / WAM / The heritage, artistic, singing and musical performances presented by international bands on the main stage, on the second day of the National Tolerance Festival, organized by the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence, in the presence and patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, attracted the attention of the audience. The activities of the main stage of the festival began with artistic and heritage performances from the Republic of Nepal, and the artistic show titled “Colors from the Philippines” presented by Philippine artists as a gift to the festival. The rhythms and heritage of Indonesia formed the most important part of the performances, which lasted for an hour and a half. The artistic and singing performances presented by the Malhar band from India received special admiration from the large crowds who gathered in the park.

The artistic and musical show entitled “Bottles” from Paraguay represented a different color that expressed the cultures of Latin America. The shows concluded with an artistic show from the People’s Republic of China, the festival’s guest of honor, and the Syrian juggling show was the last thing the festival audience watched.

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan expressed his deep appreciation for all the countries participating in the festival, whether through their distinguished pavilions or their artistic, musical and heritage performances, as well as international bands, musicians and distinguished artists from around the world, who participated in the festival and whose performances were admired and followed by many members of the UAE society, stressing that the presence of these countries in the festival in its seventh edition turned it into an important global event that embraces international experiences in tolerance and celebrates different cultures, and that the participation of these artists Creative people and musicians from around the world are evidence of everyone’s belief in the Emirati experience in tolerance, coexistence and human brotherhood.

His Excellency said that the National Festival for Tolerance and Coexistence has achieved remarkable success in highlighting the experience of the UAE as a model society in coexistence among more than 200 nationalities, and has become a platform for countries and peoples without exception to showcase their cultural and artistic heritage, and has contributed to expanding the network of partners of the Ministry of Tolerance and Coexistence at the international level, in addition to its encouragement of federal, local and private governmental institutions to organize events that celebrate tolerance and enhance its culture through interactive activities on the content of tolerance and coexistence, suitable for a multicultural society and communities. Youth sectors, families, senior citizens, and people of determination, to be part of the festival experience, in an open and encouraging atmosphere, stressing that it is possible to build on all these results in the future and maximize them.

For her part, Sonia Dotal, from the Nepalese Embassy in the country, confirmed that she and all her colleagues at the embassy are very proud to participate for the first time in the National Tolerance Festival, calling on everyone to visit the Nepalese pavilion and learn about the diversity of its culture, including hand-made clothes, elaborate copper and bronze crafts, jewelry, traditional shoes, bags, and colored pencil cases.

Muhammad Sadri, Ministerial Advisor for Social and Cultural Affairs at the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Abu Dhabi, said that the embassy is proud to present the “Journey Through Indonesia” event as part of the festival’s offerings, which is a lively cultural show that embodies harmony, diversity, and tolerance through distinctive artistic performances, including angklung, pencak silat, and gamelan, all of which are listed on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage List, in addition to traditional dances and Balinese dances that reflect Indonesia’s slogan “Unity in Diversity.”

Sadri called on visitors to the festival to enjoy the beauty of Indonesian culture and the spirit of harmony and coexistence in this wonderful celebration.

In turn, Jade Robertson, Director of International Publishing at Austin Malcolly House, expressed her happiness at participating in the National Tolerance Festival with a pavilion highlighting tolerance in diverse visions written by creative people around the world, stressing that participation this year comes as an extension of the house’s continuing role in promoting cultural dialogue, through its vast library that includes literary and scientific works from around the world, enhancing understanding of other cultures and opening doors.
