Today is the anniversary of the birth of the distinguished artist Hussein El-Sherbiny, one of the most distinguished faces in Egyptian drama and cinema, the artist who, despite the fact that most of his roles were limited to secondary roles, was able to reserve a permanent place for himself in the hearts of the audience thanks to his sincere performance and different presence.
Sherbini was born on 16 , His talent began to appear since his childhood, when his Arabic language teacher drew his attention to his abilities in speech and acting.
Although his ambition was to pursue a teaching career, his appointment at the Assiut Railway Authority prompted him to leave work after only eleven days, to return to Cairo and work as a journalist in Al-Gomhouria newspaper and then as a broadcaster on Egyptian television in his early days. But his passion for art prevailed in the end, so he joined the television theater, where he performed small roles that introduced him to the audience.
He entered the world of cinema in the mid-sixties through the films The Genie in 1964 and Al-Jaza in 1965, then he participated in about"LTR"90 one of the most prominent films": Avocato, meeting on the honeymoon, conqueror of time" And other important work.
In television drama, he played remarkable roles in works such as “Mizo, A Million’s Journey, and Hajj Metwally’s Family”, As for the stage, it was one of his most prominent works": Hamri Jamri and Attiya the terrorist."
It is noteworthy that Hussein El-Sherbiny received the title of a distinguished artist in modern theater, and was honored by the Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni, and won many awards, including the award for best actor in a second role for the films Desire and Running of the Monsters at the Cairo International Film Festival, in addition to the award from the Cairo Radio and Television Festival and his honor at the Zaki Tulaimat Festival.
He stayed away from the artistic scene since 2002 after an injury he suffered, and remained away until his death in 15 September 2007, leaving an artistic legacy full of roles that remain firmly established in the memory of the Arab viewer.
