45 Indian pilgrims were killed in a traffic accident in Saudi Arabia

Indian police announced on Monday that a bus accident occurred in Saudi Arabia, killing 45 pilgrims.

Sajjanar, Commissioner General of Hyderabad Police, where the majority of the victims are from, said, “The tragic bus accident involving Indian pilgrims in Saudi Arabia is very painful,” adding to journalists that “according to preliminary information, 46 people were on the bus at the time of the accident, and unfortunately only one person survived.”

The accident occurred as a result of a collision between their bus and an oil tanker truck while they were heading from Mecca to Medina.

Gaurav Uppal, a senior official in Telangana state, told the Associated Press that 46 people were on board the bus on its way from Mecca to Medina, which collided with an oil tanker on a highway.
