Abu Dhabi embraces "Big World Race" With the participation of people of determination
ABU DHABI, 19 November / WAM / Abu Dhabi witnessed an exceptional launch of the “Grand World Race” event in its global version, which the emirate is hosting for the first time in partnership with the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, in a sporting event that reflects the spirit of humanity, and enhances Abu Dhabi’s position as a pioneering city in integrating and empowering people of determination within international forums.
The event, which was held yesterday evening, Tuesday, brought together an elite group of international runners and participants of different nationalities, along with community members and volunteers, in a sports and humanitarian panel that reflects the values that the UAE believes in and applies on the ground.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Humaidan, Director General of the Zayed Authority for People of Determination, expressed his pride in Abu Dhabi being a global platform for a lofty humanitarian message, the content of which is that “every human being deserves to be seen, integrated and empowered.”
He explained that the Great World Race is not just a sporting event, but rather a global call for unity, early intervention and hope, especially for those who live in exceptional situations, stressing that the vision of the wise leadership in the UAE makes empowering people of determination an integral part of the process of progress and development.
For his part, David Kelly, founder and director of the Grand World Race, praised the unique organizational level provided by Abu Dhabi, and the distinguished partnership with the Zayed Authority for People of Determination.
He pointed out that what distinguishes the Abu Dhabi edition is the vital role and positive participation of people of determination in the event, stressing that seeing them contribute effectively in the various stages of the race represents a strong reminder that true inclusion is a daily practice. They added an inspiring spirit that elevated the racing experience to a deeper human level.
Kelly appreciated the professionalism and great support provided by the concerned authorities in Abu Dhabi, stressing that this cooperation is a global model for sporting events that carry a value and a message.
