"Islamic Dubai": "Life step" It records 38 million steps and opens the door to competition for children for the first time

Dubai, February 27 / WAM / The Department of Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities in Dubai continues to achieve remarkable successes in its innovative initiative “A Step of Life” within the “Ramadan in Dubai” activities, as the initiative recorded more than 38 million steps with the participation of about 600 people.

The initiative culminates this health movement with the Department’s donation of one million dirhams to Al Jalila Foundation in the name of the winning “Al Freej”, which embodies its philosophy of transforming sports activity into a direct charitable impact and sustainable human value.

The initiative is witnessing great competition through the “Steppi” application, where participants are divided into 20 teams or “freej”, with 10 freej for adults and 10 freej for children, which reflects the breadth and diversity of the community participation base, and this growing interaction confirms that every number achieved on the step counter is immediately translated into humanitarian support that enhances the spirit of positive challenge among the freej.

In this context, Mohammed Musabih Dhahi, Executive Director of the Charitable Work Sector and General Coordinator of the “Ramadan in Dubai” initiative in the department, stressed that the initiative stems from a strategic goal of promoting a culture of social responsibility in a practical manner that turns every step an individual takes into a tangible impact, indicating the integration of the health dimension with the humanitarian dimension at the same time. He pointed out that opening the door to participation for children this year has added a profound educational dimension that contributes to instilling the value of giving in the hearts of young people in an interactive and motivating way.

Dhahi called on community members to form their teams and take the initiative to register to enable their team to win and make a donation in his name, pointing out that the level of competition is witnessing a noticeable increase.

He concluded his statement by emphasizing that the possibility of the children’s farm winning over the adults carries an influential symbolic message that embodies the principle of “children donate to children,” which deepens the humanitarian impact of the initiative and strengthens the new generation’s connection to the culture of giving and giving from a young age.
