"Sharjah Sports" The name of the Kalba Beach Tournament will be changed to the Kalba Sports Festival

Sharjah, February 27 / WAM / The Board of Directors of the Sharjah Sports Council, during its regular meeting held under the chairmanship of Sheikh Dr. Khalid bin Humaid Al Qasimi, decided to change the name of the Kalba Beach Games Tournament to the “Kalba Sports Festival”, within the framework of developing the event and strengthening its societal and sporting identity.
The Council stressed the importance of the participation of government departments and institutions in the city of Kalba in organizing competitions and accompanying events, which contributes to expanding the base of community participation. It also decided to increase the duration of the festival with a focus on diversifying the games and accompanying community activities, in a way that reflects the sports and entertainment character of the city.
The meeting was held at the Council’s headquarters in Sharjah, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Sultan, Vice President and members of the Board of Directors.
His Excellency the Chairman of the Council began the meeting by congratulating His Excellency Hanan Al Mahmoud, Member of the Board of Directors, on the occasion of the success of the eighth edition of the Arab Women’s Tournament, in her capacity as Vice President of the Sharjah Women’s Sports Foundation and Vice Chairman of the Supreme Organizing Committee for the tournament.
The Council discussed the topics on the agenda, most notably the report submitted by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Malih regarding the draft law organizing the Council, in addition to reviewing the vision presented by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Abdul Rahman bin Sultan regarding the developments in the “Government” program.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Council affirmed its keenness to continue developing sporting initiatives and events, in line with the vision of the Emirate of Sharjah to support the sports movement and enhance its societal role.
