Ras Al Khaimah celebrates the strong performance of private schools by announcing the results of the 2026 quality assessments

Ras Al Khaimah, February 27 / WAM / The Ras Al Khaimah Knowledge Department announced the results of the first phase of quality assessments for private schools for the year 2026, which showed remarkable progress and widespread improvement in the performance of the majority of schools.

These results culminated in Ras Al Khaimah Al Hamra Academy achieving an “outstanding” level after its level was “very good”, an achievement that reflects years of dedication, innovation and continuous development, and is considered an important milestone in the educational process in the emirate.

The evaluations saw the level of two schools rise from “good” to “very good”, namely the International Private School of Choueifat and GEMS Westminster School, and the level of five schools rose from “acceptable” to “good”, and this category included the branches of the Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi Charitable School (2, 3 and 4), the Indian Public Secondary School, and Saint Mary’s Private Secondary School (Saint Mary).

The department confirmed that the results reflect a widespread improvement in school evaluations, which supports the path of development of the education sector in Ras Al Khaimah, based on clear standards, accurate evaluation processes, and a comprehensive commitment to continuous improvement, as schools are working at the current stage to strengthen educational leadership, raise the quality of curricula, and establish a culture of continuous development, which contributes to achieving tangible gains in student results.

She stated that the results are a testimony to the efforts of educational leaders, teachers, administrative staff, parents, and the school community with its various components, and confirm the emirate’s keenness to provide world-class educational environments that prepare students to achieve ambition and success in a rapidly developing world.

In this context, His Excellency Dr. Abdul Rahman Al Shayeb Al Naqbi, Member of the Board of Directors of the Ras Al Khaimah Knowledge Department, said: These evaluations represent a turning point in the education process in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah. It reflects the dedication of our school leaders, teachers, and students, and embodies our commitment to raising standards in every classroom. Our focus includes achieving higher levels and building a culture of continuous development that enhances results and opens up broader opportunities for every child in the emirate. We will continue to support our schools through clear directives, accurate evaluation processes, and effective partnerships, in order to establish excellence as a standard in our educational system.

Dr. Stephen Resig, Executive Director of the Ras Al Khaimah Knowledge Department, stressed that improving the level of ten private schools in Ras Al Khaimah is an important achievement and evidence of the dedication of school leaders, staff, and parents, and the department’s firm commitment to its mission of improving the quality of education in the emirate, and supporting schools to achieve the best possible results for all students.

According to the department’s data, there are currently 34 licensed private schools in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah that are subject to the supervision of the Ras Al Khaimah Knowledge Department. In 2026, the Ras Al Khaimah government took a strategic decision to entrust private school quality evaluation operations to the international company Etio Global, with the aim of enhancing the impartiality and independence of the evaluation.

Evaluations are conducted according to the unified framework of school inspection standards in the United Arab Emirates, ensuring alignment with national standards and consistency with inspection practices followed in the emirates of the country, in addition to applying strict quality assurance systems.

In line with each school’s academic calendar, the 2026 quality assessments will be conducted during the second semester; During the months of January and February 2026, 23 private schools following the British, American, International Baccalaureate (IB), SABIS curriculum, and the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum underwent independent quality assessments, while schools following the Indian, Pakistani, and Bengali curricula will undergo their assessments from September to November 2026.

The department confirmed that private schools have benefited from continuous guidance and support, within a strategic approach that focuses on developing quality levels, enhancing regulatory compliance, raising participation, and improving student results.

The establishment of the department as a specialized and independent educational body in the Emirate of Ras Al Khaimah also provided opportunities to enhance oversight, provide targeted support, and draw a clear road map for achieving sustainable growth.

The positive results of the quality assessments in 2026 confirm the success of the government’s strategic vision in the education sector, at a time when the emirate is witnessing a growth in the number of students enrolled in private schools, and the increasing interest of educational authorities wishing to establish new schools, and strategic initiatives are being implemented to strengthen the educational system and consolidate the emirate’s position as a leading educational center in the region.

During more than two years of its establishment, the Ras Al Khaimah Knowledge Department has witnessed an improvement in the quality of private schools according to the results of independent evaluations, and the emirate currently includes one school with a “distinguished” level, two schools with a “very good” level, and 10 schools with a “good” level.

The Ras Al Khaimah Knowledge Department is the organizing body for about 34 private schools with more than 35,000 male and female students, and provides nine diverse educational curricula to parents, including: the British curriculum, the American curriculum, the International Baccalaureate (IB), the UAE Ministry of Education curriculum, the Indian curriculum, the Pakistani curriculum, the Bengali curriculum, the SABIS curriculum, and the Filipino curriculum.
