Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit" It departs in Istanbul after concluding its work in Ankara

Istanbul, November 19 / WAM / The second phase of the international tour “Abu Dhabi Infrastructure Summit”, organized by the Abu Dhabi Projects and Infrastructure Center (ADPIC), was launched today in Istanbul, after concluding its work in Ankara yesterday, with the participation of representatives of government agencies in Abu Dhabi and a number of Turkish institutions and companies specialized in the construction and real estate development sector.

Representatives of Abu Dhabi participated in the summit activities, including the Centre, the Department of Municipalities and Transport, the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, and the Abu Dhabi Investment Office, in addition to “Leed Development”, “Aldar Properties”, “Modon”, “Bloom”, and “Gridora”, in addition to Turkish partners, including the Building Materials Producers Association “TURKEY IMSAD”, the Contractors Association “TCA”, the Architects Association “TSMD”, the Investments and Real Estate Association “GYODER”, and the Association of Consulting engineers and architects.

His Excellency Eng. Maysara Mahmoud Eid, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Projects and Infrastructure, said in his opening speech that Abu Dhabi and Turkey are seeking a common goal of enhancing sustainability and achieving growth through infrastructure development, stressing the emirate’s readiness to provide an integrated work environment for Turkish partners, and calling for enhancing cooperation and innovation to achieve these common goals in the sector.

He pointed out that Istanbul is a leading economic center that has produced contractors, architects and engineers with international experience, making it an essential partner for Abu Dhabi in its major projects, stressing the importance of combining Abu Dhabi’s ambitious vision with Turkish technical and executive expertise to build sustainable partnerships.

Eid stated that the center supervises more than 600 active capital projects, with a value exceeding 55 billion US dollars, including housing, transportation, and cultural landmarks projects, the most prominent of which is the Guggenheim Museum Abu Dhabi. He explained that in 2024, more than 11,000 homes have been completed, which reflects the direct impact of these projects on the lives of families and communities.

He added that the progress of the projects is taking place within the framework of involving the private sector and the five-year strategic road map, which aims to expand the participation of this sector, attract global partners, and enhance sustainability in all major developments, stressing that the coming years will witness the activation of a large portion of the projects through private sector investments, which provides broad opportunities for cooperation with Türkiye.

The Summit, held in Istanbul, included a session on major infrastructure projects in Abu Dhabi and partnership opportunities, a brief presentation of current and future project plans, in addition to a review of the framework for public-private partnerships (PPP) and available partnership models, with guidance on establishing and operating businesses in Abu Dhabi, including procedures for entering the market, the regulatory environment, and investment incentives.

A session of the summit reviewed the experiences and achievements of construction leaders, construction materials, architects, developers and contractors in Turkey, and witnessed presentations by the most prominent Turkish entities, including supply capabilities at the global level, and major projects that were implemented locally and internationally, in addition to gift exchange ceremonies and group photo taking.
