United Nations Resident Coordinator: The UAE plays a key role in strengthening international partnerships and integrating digital and financial innovation as a basis for sustainable growth.

Dubai, 19 November / WAM / Her Excellency Beranger Boyle, United Nations Resident Coordinator in the UAE, stressed the UAE’s pioneering role in supporting international multilateralism through effective diplomacy, gender equality and good governance, stressing that the UAE plays a key role in strengthening international partnerships and integrating digital and financial innovation as a basis for sustainable growth.
Beranger-Boel said in a session entitled “International Pluralism in an Increasingly Disunited World” during the activities of the tenth session of the “Knowledge Summit” organized by the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation in partnership with the United Nations Development Program at the Dubai World Trade Center: The centrality of societies, along with the role of states, ensures that development is more comprehensive and realistic while recognizing the importance of preparing to face the increasing global challenges in the future.
The United Nations Resident Coordinator in the UAE spoke about the prospects for cooperation in an interconnected world despite manifestations of division, the role of multilateral action in improving people’s lives and protecting the planet, in addition to the importance of strengthening regional and international partnerships and the role of the United Nations in consolidating dialogue, building confidence and advancing collective action.
She explained that the world today faces complex challenges, including wars, conflicts, pandemics and rapid technological development, which makes multilateral cooperation an inevitable necessity. She stressed that only 17 percent of the sustainable development goals have been achieved so far, noting that there are three million people in dire need of comprehensive and immediate aid, while conflicts affect 1.7 billion people. Despite these numbers, she stressed the need for international institutions to adapt to global changes and invest in opportunities to enhance cooperation and trust between countries and societies.
She stressed the importance of having a clear institutional vision to guide multilateral action, stressing that the United Nations agenda represents a roadmap towards enhancing international cooperation and achieving sustainable development. She explained that commitment to strong and transparent financial institutions is essential to address the current crises.
