Sharjah’s 54th Union Day celebrations begin

Sharjah, 20 November / WAM / The 54th Union Day celebrations kicked off yesterday at Al Suyoh Family Park in the Emirate of Sharjah, in the presence of Sheikh Majid bin Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Head of the Suburbs Affairs Department, His Excellency Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Sharjah Emirate Committee for Union Day Celebrations, and officials and members of the committee in the Emirate of Sharjah.

The event witnessed a large turnout from families and visitors who came to participate in an atmosphere full of joy and belonging.

This year’s celebrations came within the framework of a diverse program that combined heritage, educational and interactive activities that reflect the authentic spirit and highlight the value of unity in society. In addition to the launch of activities in Al-Siyuh Park for Families, activities were launched in both Kashasha Park and Sharjah National Park, and activities will continue in all cities and regions of the Emirate of Sharjah until December 2.

The 54th Union Day celebrations also kicked off in the heritage village in the Maliha region, amid an atmosphere of pride and national pride, full of activities that take into account the participation of all age and societal groups and express the national identity and ancient heritage of the Emirates.

The celebrations witnessed a national march, in addition to various performances by military teams, and the presentation of poetry recitals that celebrated the nation and its achievements and enhanced the sense of patriotism and pride in the great heritage that distinguishes it, in addition to various competitions for the public and valuable prizes that added a fun and competitive nature in which everyone participated in an atmosphere bearing the character of Mleiha, its history and its heritage.

The Hamriyah area was decorated with UAE flags to celebrate the 54th Union Day in an atmosphere that enhances patriotism and love of the homeland, and signs of preparations for the celebrations appeared everywhere in the region.

The celebration activities were held in the heritage village and included patriotic performances presented by school students and national and popular songs, in addition to competitions and activities for senior citizens and children.
