Waters are back to normal between the US President and Elon Musk

The waters have returned to normal, as it is said, between US President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk, after the president received him for two days in events held at the White House recently, and Trump mentioned Musk by name in a speech he delivered the day before yesterday, after quiet diplomacy by Trump’s advisors, to repair one of the worst separations in political history.

Vice President J.D. Vance and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles played a crucial role in resolving the dispute and ensuring Musk’s return to the president’s inner circle, according to several sources inside the White House or close to the president.

A close source told The Washington Post: “Both Wiles and Vance assured Elon that he has an open line of communication (with the president), and that they are willing and able to be a voice for him and honest brokers wherever Elon wants to support the administration.” The source added: “He has a place to express this in a private way. “Private and frank, and this is what allowed this development.”

As for Musk, he has shown some interest in making sure people know that he wants to be supportive and cooperative, according to the same sources.

Improve the relationship

An informed source in the White House said that “the relationship has actually improved,” more than five months after Musk’s sudden call for Trump’s impeachment and his pledge to establish a third party that could eliminate Republicans in next year’s midterm elections.

Wiles expressed her appreciation for Musk because he had “made a huge impact on our efforts to reduce the size of government,” as “unpaid leader” of the Department of Government Efficiency between January and May, and “didn’t want to lose that completely,” a second source said.

A third source said, “Elon trusts Susie Wiles and the Vice President more than anyone else,” and that Vance is “working to ease tensions.”

The calm talks bore fruit when Trump and Musk spoke face to face at the funeral of Charlie Kirk, co-founder of the “Turning Point in America” organization, who was assassinated last September 21 in Arizona.

Main reason

Meanwhile, Trump’s longtime advisor, social media expert and new director of presidential personnel, Dan Scavino, worked to cancel his predecessor Sergio Gore’s decision to withdraw Jared Isaacman’s nomination to lead NASA, which was a major reason for Musk’s anger.

“Dan considered it his life’s mission to right this wrong,” one source told the New York Post, and renominated Isaacman, a former astronaut.

Gore was bid farewell in the Oval Office on November 10 before moving to India to work as ambassador, in what his critics consider a smooth landing, after he jeopardized Trump’s political agenda due to personal grievances.

Calm down the situation

A stunning escalation occurred on June 5, when US President Donald Trump threatened to stop the flow of federal funds to Elon Musk’s companies SpaceX and Tesla. Musk claimed that the president was involved in files related to Jeffrey Epstein, who is involved in sex scandals. After a period of calm, including deleting posts about Epstein, Musk announced on July 5 that he would form a third party called “America’s Party” in order to “restore freedom” to Americans. As he put it, this threatened to withdraw votes from Republicans, and an informed source in the White House said: “There was a need for some time to calm the situation, and Susie Wiles (White House Chief of Staff) was able to do that,” adding: “The truth is that Wiles’ role has always been that of a behind-the-scenes operator, identifying problems and trying to solve them.” He continued: “Wiles has always played a role in mending relations wherever there was a mutual interest, and both Wiles and J.D. Vance (Vice President) made Elon feel comfortable.” He resorts to them directly when he has something he wants to discuss.
