"Federal National" He discusses regional developments with the Horn of Africa envoy at the Swiss Foreign Ministry
ABU DHABI, 22nd November / WAM / His Excellency Dr. Ali Rashid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of the Defense, Interior and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Federal National Council in Abu Dhabi, received His Excellency Ambassador Sylvain Aste, Special Envoy for the Horn of Africa at the Swiss Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the presence of His Excellency Sarah Falaknaz, a member of the Council, and His Excellency Arthur Mattli, Ambassador of the Swiss Confederation to the country.
During the meeting, His Excellency Al Nuaimi stressed the strength of the UAE-Swiss relations and their continuous development in various fields, pointing to the UAE’s approach to enhancing global security and stability, and the keenness of the wise leadership to spread the values of tolerance and coexistence, and to provide humanitarian and development aid in many countries in a way that contributes to achieving development and prosperity for the peoples of the world.
He stressed the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in supporting countries’ orientations towards various national and global issues of common interest.
The meeting discussed regional developments in the Horn of Africa region, and in this regard, the two sides stressed the importance of coordination and cooperation to support international efforts aimed at achieving peace and stability, and finding sustainable solutions to the humanitarian and development challenges in these countries.
For his part, the Swiss envoy expressed his country’s appreciation for the active global role played by the UAE in promoting international dialogue, supporting diplomatic solutions to crises, achieving sustainable development, and cooperating with various countries of the world in this aspect. He praised the cultural renaissance that the UAE is witnessing in all fields.
