After criticism…the Liverpool legend acquits Salah

Liverpool legend John Barnes confirmed that the club’s problem in the current season is not related to the Egyptian player Mohamed Salah, and he is innocent of all problems, after criticism directed at the top scorer from Manchester United legends Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes.
Barnes told the British newspaper the Mirror that the decline is not only related to Mohamed Salah’s performance, but rather to the way Liverpool played differently this season, and there are many aspects to the matter, as passes were coming to Salah from the club’s former right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold or from the rest of the players in the team.
He added that the new players joining the team and the change in the way of playing made the team suffer from a lack of harmony, and the team will improve as the weeks pass.
He stated that there is a link between Salah’s level and his reaching the age of 33, which Barnes denied.
He pointed out that the teams in the English Premier League defend more deeply against Liverpool, and this makes it difficult. The problem is not with Salah alone, but rather with a combination of the change in the team’s style, the new players, and the way the competitors play. I do not worry about Liverpool’s success in the future, but we need some time to return to the level of the past three or four years.
Former Manchester United legends Wayne Rooney and Paul Scholes were among the most prominent critics of Salah, accusing him of work ethics, while a deal worth 65 million pounds was proposed to include Antoine Semenyu from Bournemouth as a possible alternative.
It is noteworthy that Salah’s performance is the focus of attention this season, as the Egyptian player did not show his remarkable brilliance last season during Liverpool’s journey to defend the English Premier League title.
