A delegation from International Charitable Works visits Syria to launch humanitarian projects

A delegation from the International Charitable Trust, headed by Dr. Khaled Abdel Wahab Al Khaja, Secretary-General of the Commission, began today a visit to the Syrian Arab Republic, with the aim of launching charitable and humanitarian projects in a number of governorates, including maintaining wells, restoring mosques, and providing 16 ambulances and 55 modern dialysis machines to hospitals.
The delegation’s visit includes an inspection of 30 charitable projects implemented by the Authority in the fields of health care, education, providing water to the most needy areas, and providing food aid to needy families, in addition to orphan sponsorship projects, in coordination with the relevant authorities in Syria.
Dr. Khaled Abdul Wahab Al Khaja said that these projects come as a continuation of the Authority’s charitable work in Syria, and an embodiment of the UAE’s approach to extending a helping hand to brothers, and a translation of the directives of the wise leadership in supporting those in need and alleviating their suffering. He stressed that the priority at this stage is focused on supporting vital sectors, especially health, education and water, because of their direct impact on people’s daily lives.
He added that the total value of the projects implemented by the Authority in Syria since it began its work there about a year ago amounted to approximately 21 million dirhams, which included multiple relief and development programs, indicating that the Authority is working to move from emergency response to sustainable projects that leave a long-term impact on the beneficiary communities.
He pointed out that the current field visit aims to launch new projects, evaluate existing projects on the ground, and sign contracts with local partners, calling on philanthropists and philanthropists to continue supporting the Authority’s programs directed to the brotherly Syrian people and peoples affected by wars and disasters.
