Nawaf Al-Jabarti: Singing in classical Arabic is a rich experience… and the Sharqiya audience listens and savors the details

Expressed by the Saudi artist Nawaf Al-Jabarti expressed his happiness to participate in singing in classical Arabic, stressing that it is an experience that represents a special artistic value for him.

He said during the press conference held after the singing evening in “Ithra”: “It is a great opportunity for me to sing in classical Arabic. The audience got used to this color to a limited extent, but today was the largest share, and more than one song was presented in this style.”

Regarding the audience’s interaction, Al-Jabarti explained that he found He received a remarkable response from the audience in the Eastern Region, saying: “I saw an audience enjoying and listening. They were following the details carefully, the word, the melody, and the message, and God willing, the works would please them.”

New Works

And about the possibility of presenting new eloquent works in the future, he revealed Al-Jabartiduring the evening, he presented a new work written by the poet Musafer, composed by him, and arranged by maestro Amir Abdel Majeed, adding: “We sang the work today, and God willing, it will reach the audience in the way we aspire.”

Al-Jabarti spoke about the relationship between melody and the classical Arabic language, and how to combine the depth of feeling and the eloquence of the text, stressing that the matter begins with respecting the poet’s vision and understanding what he wants to convey.

/>He said: “When the text is in front of me, I must know the poet’s goal. I must know how to convey his feelings to the listener through the appropriate setting, and through thoughtful performance and musical details that highlight the meaning that the poet aspires to convey.”

He concluded his speech by saying that creativity in singing in classical Arabic requires great awareness of Arabic melody and the nature of the language, and knowledge of how to harmonize the artist’s sense with the eloquence of the text, to reach an integrated artistic experience that respects taste and touches the audience.
