Umm Al-Qura University has strengthened its presence on the map of global academic excellence, after achieving remarkable progress in a group of international classifications for the year 2026, which confirms the success of its ambitious strategy in developing its educational programs and enhancing its research capabilities in line with the goals of the university’s 2027 vision.
The most prominent achievements of the university’s rankings
The university continued its progress in the Times Interdisciplinary Ranking by achieving an advanced position within the category 251-300 out of 1,267 global universities, which reflects the strength of its interdisciplinary programs and its ability to align its outputs with the needs of the labor market, in addition to strengthening its presence in scientific research paths. and knowledge production locally and internationally.
The university also recorded a qualitative achievement in the QS Sustainability Classification 2026; It jumped from 1161st place in 2025 to 697th place in 2026, in progress that reflects the university’s commitment to implementing sustainable practices. Promoting innovation in education and research, and supporting Community service initiatives and their environmental responsibility.
In the Shanghai classification of academic specializations, Umm Al-Qura University maintained its distinction by entering its specializations among the top 500 majors globally, which embodies the efforts of the colleges in raising the efficiency of the educational process, supporting qualitative research, and improving the quality of the outputs.
The specialty of clinical medicine emerged within the 401-500 category globally, and in the 2-5 category locally, and the specialty of pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences also distinguished itself. By entering the category 201-300 globally, and within the category 4-5 locally, it is a clear indication of the strength and superiority of health specializations within the university’s academic and research system.
