Extremist groups linked to the Brotherhood cannot determine Sudan’s future

Dr. Anwar bin Muhammad Gargash, Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, stressed that violent extremist groups linked or with a clear connection to the Muslim Brotherhood cannot determine the future of Sudan.

Anwar Gargash said, “False allegations and misleading information will not deter us from continuing to work with regional and international partners to end the war in Sudan,” according to “Sky News Arabia.”

Gargash strongly condemned the atrocities committed by both the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, stressing that there is no military solution to the war in Sudan.

The Diplomatic Advisor to His Highness the President of the State welcomed the American leadership and its efforts to end the atrocities in Sudan.

Gargash’s statements come in light of the escalation of fighting between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces, and the deterioration of the humanitarian situation in Darfur and other regions, amid international warnings of worsening famine.

US President Donald Trump said last Wednesday that he would work to end the war in Sudan.

For his part, the American envoy for African and Arab affairs, Massad Boulos, said that President Donald Trump considers ending the war in Sudan a priority, and that the United States presented the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces with a strong text for a comprehensive peace plan, but neither party announced its official acceptance of it, despite the initial welcome from both sides, indicating that the army returned with a set of “preconditions” that Washington sees as obstructing opportunities for progress.
