Treasury Secretary: Trump may announce the new Federal Reserve Chairman before Christmas

 US Treasury Secretary Scott Besent said on Tuesday that US President Donald Trump is likely to choose a new Chairman of the Federal Reserve before Christmas, December 25.

The US Treasury Secretary added – according to what was reported by the Washington Times newspaper: American – Choosing a new head for the Federal Reserve before Christmas or in the new year is within the powers of Trump alone.

 

The newspaper indicated that Trump is keen to appoint a successor to Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell, who angered Trump by taking a cautious approach to lowering interest rates this year.
