250 people are missing after a boat capsized in the Andaman Sea

At least 250 people, including Rohingya refugees and Bangladeshi citizens, were missing after a boat on its way to Malaysia via , according to what was announced by United Nations agencies.
The concerned authorities explained that the boat left from the Teknaf region in in southern Bangladesh, carrying large numbers of passengers on an irregular migration journey towards Malaysia.
Causes of the sinking
Reports indicated that the boat was overcrowded with passengers, in addition to the bad weather conditions of strong winds and strong waves, which led to it losing its balance and capsizing at sea.
United Nations agencies confirmed that this incident highlights the great risks that migrants face in Sea trips, calling for intensified efforts to protect them and reduce these tragedies.
