A strong start to the World Cup competitions "Kickboxing" In Abu Dhabi
Abu Dhabi, 25 November / WAM / The activities of the World Kickboxing Championship “Seniors and Masters” continued this evening, which will be held until November 30, at the ADNEC Center Abu Dhabi, with the participation of 2,000 male and female athletes representing 150 countries.
The preliminary events began yesterday with bouts in the ring and tatami categories, amid strong competition from participants in the different categories, to decide the victory and move to the final rounds, while the competitions for the People of Determination category will be held tomorrow after the procedures for approving lists and different weights are completed, with the participation of 37 players representing the Emirates.
Ali Khoury, a member of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Muay Thai and Kickboxing Federation and a member of the Executive Office of the International Kickboxing Federation, confirmed that the strong start of the tournament yesterday and today revealed high technical indicators, great potential of participants from all over the world, and their intense preparations.
Khoury expected high competition in the events for people of determination tomorrow, due to the presence of the world’s elite champions with achievements in this category, in addition to the expected participation of the UAE champions, as part of the UAE’s tangible and pioneering efforts to promote societal integration and empower this category with the competitive capabilities to reap achievements in all fields of sports.
The tournament participants praised the distinguished organization of the competitions, and the importance of the global event in achieving their ambitions to reach the first places. The player Malika Shoreva from Uzbekistan said that she is looking forward to achieving an achievement in the world championship amidst strong competitions, praising its hosting in Abu Dhabi amid a distinguished atmosphere.
Egyptian Islam Shaaban pointed out that the World Championship is a great ambition for every participant in its competitions, to reach the podium, and said that the UAE has provided a great opportunity for them to achieve their aspirations by hosting the tournament in Abu Dhabi.
Syrian Sarah Al-Ahmad noted her country’s team’s readiness to achieve success in the tournament despite the strong competition in the presence of the best male and female players in the world, and said that the UAE is distinguished in organizing various sporting events.
American Cameron Martin explained that the competition is strong in the tournament because it brings together the best athletes in the world, with their aspirations to achieve advanced positions in this edition.
