This came during a press conference held by Counselor Ahmed Bandari this Tuesday evening, from within the central operations room of the National Elections Authority to follow up on the work of the National Elections Authority. He added that the central operations room of the National Elections Authority received 221 complaints during the two days of voting, including 117 complaints today; Among them are 6 complaints about not allowing delegates to enter, 8 complaints about not being included in the voter database, 7 complaints related to accommodation by bringing them closer to their place of residence, 51 complaints about the electoral process within the committees, 5 complaints against the heads of subcommittees, an election bribery complaint via the hotline, in addition to 22 complaints about directing voters and 2 complaints about gathering voters for a group vote, in addition to 10 complaints about crowding and overcrowding, and 5 other complaints. He explained that the authority’s central operations room received 46 complaints from party representatives in coordination with the parties’ operations rooms via the “WhatsApp” application. Counsel Bandari pointed out that all complaints received by the Commission were dealt with and responded to in writing, and legal measures were taken regarding them in a way that ensures the integrity of the electoral process, including complaints that were proven non-existent, noting that the most prominent complaints related to the expulsion of candidate delegates from subcommittees.
Bandari continued: “The legal procedure in accordance with the controls announced by the Commission relates to the The advisor supervising the committee selects only 4 delegates to attend the polls; If the number exceeds that, in order to ensure regular work within the committee.”
The heads of the follow-up committees in the governorates reviewed a number of complaints received by them, and monitored the voting work on the second day of voting. The measures that were taken regarding these incidents were in accordance with the controls approved by the National Elections Authority.
The Director of the Executive Branch of the National Elections Authority directed all heads of the general and sub-committees to enable everyone who holds a power of attorney for a candidate to attend the sorting, counting, and numerical work, and to receive a copy of the counting minutes after it was announced by the General Committee.
The advisor confirmed Bandari said that the announcement of the results of the second phase of the House of Representatives elections can only be done through the National Elections Authority according to the timetable and after the meeting of its Board of Directors, calling on everyone not to be led by any other announcements, whether through social media platforms or elsewhere.
