"UAEV" and"Hotel" The Chinese company is developing next-generation solutions for smart charging and energy management in the country

Dubai and Shenzhen, November 26 / WAM / The Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company (UAEV), the first electric vehicle charging network wholly owned by the UAE government, signed a memorandum of understanding with Autel Digital Power Co., Ltd, to develop next-generation solutions for smart charging and energy management across the UAE.
The memorandum was signed during a visit by a delegation from UAEV to Autel’s headquarters in the Chinese city of Shenzhen, in an important step towards building a future-ready smart energy system that enhances reliability, efficiency and long-term sustainability for electric vehicle users throughout the country.
Under this partnership, the Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company and Autel will work to develop advanced technologies such as (V2G), an advanced system that allows electric vehicles to communicate with the public electricity grid, integrated energy storage systems for batteries, and smart charging platforms designed to suit the climate conditions and mobility needs of the country.
The joint efforts include research, pilot programs and locally optimized solutions to support the continued expansion of the national charging network and ensure high performance even at extreme temperatures.
As UAEV expands the deployment of a fast, reliable and accessible charging network across all seven emirates, these innovations will contribute to enhancing the flexibility of its operational system and improving overall energy efficiency.
Thanks to this partnership, Autel will offer leading technical capabilities, including DC fast charging systems proven at temperatures exceeding 55 degrees Celsius, advanced remote maintenance capabilities, ongoing research and development in power modules, cloud platform optimization and fault diagnosis solutions powered by artificial intelligence.
Being the first electric vehicle charging network wholly owned by the UAE government and having an extensive network of charging stations spread in strategic locations, the partnership will allow UAEV to provide a more intelligent and adaptive charging system, enhance consumer confidence, and accelerate the pace of widespread adoption of electric vehicles in the country.
Ali Al Darwish, CEO of Emirates Electric Vehicle Charging Stations Company, said: This partnership brings us one step closer to achieving our goal of developing the next generation of smart charging and energy management solutions in the UAE. By combining Autel’s leading technologies with charging station infrastructure, we are building a more flexible and intelligent system that is fully in line with the country’s ambitions in the field of clean mobility.
Melody, Vice President at Autel, said that cooperation with the Emirates Company for Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (UAEV) within a national project enhances the path of transformation towards sustainable mobility in the UAE, which reflects Autel’s firm commitment to supporting the national infrastructure through advanced and reliable technologies that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the system. She expressed her aspiration to continue working with partners to develop innovative solutions that contribute to achieving the country’s goals in the field of clean energy and electric mobility.
This memorandum is consistent with regulatory developments in the electric vehicle sector in the UAE, including the technical requirements issued pursuant to Cabinet Resolution No. (50) of 2024 in accordance with the UAE standard UAE.S 2698:2024, which aims to strengthen the foundations of electric mobility in the long term.
As the country’s shift towards sustainable transportation accelerates, UAEV continues to expand the national charging network to keep pace with growing demand, enhancing existing coverage in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and the Northern Emirates, and ensuring drivers have access to fast and reliable charging wherever they are.
UAEV aspires to install more than 1,000 direct fast chargers (DC) by 2030, in support of the UAE’s energy transition ambitions and achieving the goals of the 2050 climate neutrality strategy.
