Dubai Chambers is looking to strengthen economic relations with Serbia

Dubai, November 28 / WAM / The Dubai Chambers organized a roundtable discussion in cooperation with the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with the aim of expanding the horizons of trade and investment cooperation, and discussing the strategic opportunities available to enhance bilateral partnerships between Dubai and Serbia.

According to a press release issued today, the event, which was held at the Dubai Chambers headquarters, was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah, Director General of Dubai Chambers, His Excellency Steven Nikiević, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign and Interior Trade in Serbia, and His Excellency Vladimir Maric, Ambassador of the Republic of Serbia to the country.

His Excellency Mohammed Ali Rashid Lootah said that Dubai continues to consolidate its position as a pivotal center on the global economic map by strengthening constructive partnerships with countries of the world, most notably the Republic of Serbia. We are keen to adopt an integrated approach to enhance economic cooperation and develop the trade and investment movement, which contributes to creating qualitative and sustainable opportunities for business communities and achieving common development goals.

The discussions dealt with ways to enhance cooperation in vital sectors, such as construction, energy, information technology, agri-food, health care, trade, financial technology, industrial automation, and transportation. Participants also discussed opportunities to expand trade relations between the two sides and pave the way for new partnerships that contribute to advancing economic growth for both sides.

In an indication of Dubai’s growing investment attractiveness for Serbian businessmen and investors, 83 new Serbian companies joined the membership of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce during the first nine months of this year, bringing the total number of active Serbian companies registered in the chamber’s membership to 293 companies by the end of last September.

Bilateral trade relations have also witnessed significant growth, with the value of non-oil trade between Dubai and Serbia reaching approximately 336 million dirhams in 2024, a growth of 44% on an annual basis.
