An Emirati delegation visits China to enhance cooperation in education and artificial intelligence

ABU DHABI, 29 November / WAM / A delegation from the Council for Education, Human Development and Society, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the Ministry of Education, headed by His Excellency Hajer Ahmed Al Dhahli, Secretary-General of the Council for Education, Human Development and Society, made an official visit to the People’s Republic of China.
This visit, which was coordinated with the UAE Embassy in Beijing and the UAE Consulate in Shanghai, was an extension of the growing relations between the UAE and the People’s Republic of China, which are witnessing continuous expansion in the fields of education, technology, economy, energy, investment, culture and scientific research, reflecting the depth of the partnership between the two countries.
The visit witnessed a series of official and field meetings with Chinese governmental, academic and research institutions, with the aim of enhancing cooperation in developing educational systems, exchanging experiences, benefiting from international experiences in building future skills, and considering joint opportunities that can be built upon during the next stage.
During the visit, the delegation met with officials from the Chinese Ministry of Education, the Shanghai Education Commission, and a number of institutions concerned with the family, women’s empowerment, and caring for people of determination, where national policies in the quality of education, community development, child protection, and the development of family support programs were reviewed, in addition to discussing cooperation mechanisms related to common axes between the two sides.
The delegation also learned about advanced educational models through visits to leading universities and schools, which included Peking University, Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, and East China Normal University, in addition to the Shanghai Experimental School, the Beijing 101 School, and the Fangzhuang Model Kindergarten.
These visits provided an expanded opportunity to understand innovative education methods, gifted care programs, integrated curriculum models, evaluation methods, and teacher preparation and development programs.
Artificial intelligence in education was a major focus of the visit, as the delegation was briefed on the latest applications used in adaptive learning, educational data analysis, smart assessment, and algorithm-based models to support the educational process and improve learning outcomes.
Opportunities for cooperation were also discussed to develop smart educational tools and research in artificial intelligence that would benefit the education systems in the UAE and China, and to enhance the capabilities of schools, teachers and universities in the fields of advanced educational technology.
The visit included a meeting with a number of Emirati students studying at Chinese universities, where Her Excellency Hajar Al Dhahli listened to their academic experiences and future aspirations, stressing the UAE’s support for its scholarship students and encouraging them to acquire global knowledge and skills.
Her Excellency stressed that the visit opened new horizons for Emirati-Chinese cooperation in education, scientific research and innovation, and that the models and experiences that the delegation reviewed will support the UAE’s efforts in developing an advanced educational system based on innovation, empowering the teacher, promoting scientific research, and activating modern technologies in the educational process.
At the conclusion of the visit, the Emirati delegation extended invitations to a number of Chinese educational and research institutions to visit the UAE during the next phase, with the aim of pursuing cooperation paths and developing joint programs in education, artificial intelligence, teacher training, curriculum development, scientific research and academic exchange, in addition to enhancing cooperation in the areas of family, community development and women’s empowerment.
